Evaluation of the quality of urban life (case study: Yaftabad neighborhood)

Abstract

Quality of life is one of the factors that has a special place in urban planning studies today. The quality of life, while having objective dimensions and dependence on objective and mental conditions, and ultimately depends on the person's imagination and perception of the realities of life. Today, the quality of life is the main goal of all the plans prepared by thinkers and planners. The existence of problems such as weak sources of income, lack of public and private transportation, lack of opportunities and suitable job positions, medical centers, inadequate housing, problems and damages caused by social inequalities, improper nutrition and unstable housing, our urban neighborhoods. has faced challenges. The main purpose of this research is to examine the indicators related to the quality of life from the perspective of the citizens of Yafet Abad neighborhood in Tehran. The descriptive-analytical research method is based on the use of questionnaires. The number of the statistical population is 250 people, and in order to analyze the studied variables, SPSS software and statistical methods such as average responses, parametric statistical test T for independent variables were used. The results of the research show that the situation of the quality of life in the study area in terms of environmental, economic and social aspects is not favorable from the point of view of the sample community and only the transportation and communication situation from the point of view of the sample community has been evaluated at an average level.
