The physical-spatial characteristic of settlements is the result of mutual interaction of various environmental-ecological and socio-economic factors and forces. In this interactive process and according to the rules of the "structural-functional scanning" theory, not only internal factors and forces, but also external factors and forces have a (synergistic) role. The scope of this collection determines the mobility or stability of the development process of the settlement. Thus, the evolutionary field of the environment and space of human settlements returns to the natural range of their internal and external relations. In the meantime, sometimes external interventions, either based on certain plans or spontaneous or spontaneous, become the basis for favorable transformation or even unfavorable transformation of settlements. Therefore, in their two-way interaction with urban centers, rural settlements are not only affected by these centers, but also affect their physical form and spatial relationships. Or it is the area of immediate influence, which especially after the establishment of Ardabil province (1901) and the unopposed dominance and regional centrality of this city, has faced wide-ranging transformations in various physical-spatial dimensions. It is obvious that these transformations have been accompanied by various environmental-ecological, social-cultural and economic-political reflections. In other words, such transformations can be considered as a reflection of the impact flow of various internal and external factors and forces over time. This article tries to identify the evolution and metamorphosis of rural settlements in the peripheral area of Ardabil city through diagnosis, verification and analysis of internal and external influencing factors and forces.
