Abstract

In this research, library and field methods, statistical, quantitative, qualitative, software, etc. methods have been used, and in order to show maps of the stages of growth and spatial development of Tehran, Arc GIS software has been used, and finally, These findings have been compared and analyzed with the results of the classification of the characteristics of the city of Sydney. The results obtained from the calculations show that the metropolitan form of Sydney is "monocentric". (High population and employment are concentrated in the central core of the city and the population density decreases with the distance from the city center - dispersion). But in order to explain the form of the metropolitan city of Tehran, all the evidences, methods and models used show that the physical development of the city of Tehran was very fast in all periods and this problem led to the horizontal distribution of this city and approaching the model It has become random in the periods of 65 to 75, and it tends to be compressed and concentrated in the following periods, that is, until 2015.
