Abstract

The current research, which is applied in terms of purpose and analytical in terms of descriptive nature, examines the capacities of cultural heritage tourism development in the ancient village of Meimand, Kerman. In this research, capacities such as heritage, social-cultural, infrastructural and institutional are emphasized. The data of the current research was collected by library and field method. The research field studies include the design of the questionnaire tool based on the research literature and gathering the opinions of experts in the fields of tourism and traditional architecture. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by academic colleagues and Cronbach's alpha (864.) also indicates the high reliability of the tool. SPSS software was used for data processing, and t-test, Friedman, and linear regression were used for data analysis based on the nature of the data and research objectives. The results show that the capacities of cultural heritage have the greatest role and contribution in the development of tourism in this region. In the meantime, the indicators of traditional architecture and identity, the attitude of the local community, the construction of infrastructures and the interaction of officials with tourists are the most important indicators of cultural heritage, socio-cultural, infrastructural and institutional dimensions, respectively. Also, the contribution of each dimension in the development of cultural heritage tourism is not equal, and the cultural heritage dimension has more and the infrastructure dimension has the least contribution in the development of cultural heritage tourism. In this regard, it should be acknowledged that the cultural heritage is considered to be the main factor in the formation of tourism in this region, and other aspects, as mentioned, indicate the level of development and the position of this type of tourism in the region.
