Abstract

Sustainable urban development is an all-round development that takes into account different dimensions and seeks to reconcile the ecological, social and economic dimensions and the effects of human activity. Traditional approaches to urban development have generally been one-sided, focused on economic policies and goals. The metropolis of Tabriz is an example of urban development models that, despite the spatial coherence and compactness in the stage of creation until the Pahlavi period, especially before the land reform law of the early 40s, has been completely transformed due to the changes caused by urbanization in recent decades and today is caught It has become a porous and pathological structure. Spatial analysis of the sustainable development approach using sustainability variables, using research findings in policies and planning related to urban development plans and helping managers of relevant institutions and organizations in urban management have been research goals. The results of the investigations show that among the ten urban areas of Tabriz, three deprived areas (areas one, seven and ten) with an average development coefficient of 0.27 are at the lowest level of prosperity and development. Six regions are semi-developed and semi-stable regions with an average development coefficient of 0.585. A region (region two) is considered the only well-developed and developed region of the city, which has the last development priority with a development coefficient of 0.74.
