Abstract

The concept of a child-friendly city is based on a system that pays attention to children's rights and reflects policies, laws, programs and budgets based on the needs of children in today's cities. The Children's Aid Centers project was established by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Human Settlements Program (Habitat) in 1996. The aim of this plan was to implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child at a level where children can have the greatest impact. In this regard, the present research has been carried out with the aim of realizing the process of Hamiyar Children's City in Shiraz city. The research method of this article is descriptive and analytical in a parallel way, gathering information and data through a questionnaire, and its statistical community is made by two groups of city managers. It consists of specialists and city experts and parents living in Shiraz city. Relying on Pearson's correlation method, Shiraz showed that in all the defined components, none of the items of children's participation, the legal framework of the child assistant, the comprehensive strategy of children's rights in the city, the children's rights unit or coordinated mechanisms, evaluating and measuring the impact of laws on Children, children's budget, report on the status of urban children, recognition of children's rights and independent protection of children did not have an average of 3 or higher, and this shows that, relatively, Shiraz city is not in a favorable situation in terms of the principles of the child support city. Also, the analysis based on the multivariable regression model, in the city of Shiraz, the index of knowledge of children's rights as the most important and effective predictor variable of the city of Hamiyar is the highest with a coefficient of 0.426.
