Abstract

The present study was carried out in the Taleghan watershed in Alborz province in order to prioritize the effective areas on the peak flood discharge. For this purpose, maps of the physical characteristics of the Taleghan watershed were prepared using the geographic information system software (Arc GIS); Also, the steady rain gauge data and the equivalent recorded runoff for 20 years of the statistical period (1372-1392) were obtained from the regional water of Tehran. As a result, four flood events were extracted from the available statistics and recalibrated in the HEC-HMS hydrological model in order to SCS method was used for calibration and simulation of hydrograph, and Lag time method was used for trends in waterways, and finally, using the 50-year return period and using the repetition method of removing individual sub-basins in the HEC-HMS environment of each of the sub-basins from Flood risk was prioritized. The results of this research show that the contribution of sub-basins in the discharge of the whole basin is not only influenced by the area and peak discharge of the sub-basins, and factors such as curve number and soil hydrological group play a significant role in Khairi floods.
