Environmental effects of Israel's security and military policies

Abstract

The main goal of the current research is to investigate various aspects of the military and security measures of the authoritarian regime of Israel and to deal with the environmental consequences of the actions of this regime. Because despite the many researches that have been done in the field of the actions and policies of the Israeli regime, in terms of the environment, the destructive actions and the effects of the current military and security measures of this regime on the environment of the occupied Palestinian territories and the neighbors of Israel and the Middle East have been carefully and extensively investigated. has not been This article tries to analyze this issue from different aspects. The findings of the research show that Israel's settlement building and military actions on the environment of the Palestinian lands have destructive consequences such as the pollution of Palestinian water sources, the destruction of Palestinian flora and fauna, air pollution and the change of the natural environment of Palestine by the settlers, and as a result It has created economic insecurity and health problems for the Palestinians and the people of the region, and the destruction of the cultural heritage of the Palestinians has been associated with Israel's road construction and construction, hazardous solid waste pollution, pollution and threats to the environment of the Middle East region. Military measures, construction of canals, draining of swamps, movement of heavy military equipment, use of chemical, biological and conventional weapons against our neighbors (Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and other Middle Eastern countries) lead to soil deterioration, removal of vegetation, pollution. atmosphere and destruction of water and land ecosystem and climate change in the region. Huge amounts of organic sediments have reached the soil surface and the swelling and inflammation of these sediments has led to the development of new sandy areas and as a result the spread of soil and sand particles in the atmosphere and the spread of fine dust to the countries of the region. Also, the warmongering of Saddam and the Americans and the draining of the swamps by Saddam and the change and manipulation of the land surface and the Western military domination over the region are other important factors of the environmental, political and economic threats and insecurities of the region. The method of this research is causal explanation and the method of collecting information is by using documentary library resources.
