Investigating the relationship between social capital and sustainable development of Ahvaz city neighborhoods, case study: Kianpars and Lashkarabad neighborhoods

Abstract

As one of the most important factors and executive arms in any country, social capital plays a significant role in the sustainable development of any region. Therefore, dealing with different aspects of social capital has become very important in urban development studies. Social capital is the way people interact with each other, the manner and extent of their participation in civil affairs and their shared beliefs and values, which can have a significant impact on reducing time and economic and social costs; Therefore, the concept of social capital (besides natural, economic and human capital) has been proposed, which includes institutions, relationships; It is the attitudes and values ​​that guide people's interaction. These human interactions in areas where there are racial and ideological differences will face challenges, and the city of Ahvaz is no exception. Therefore, in this study, the relationship between social capital and sustainable development of the two neighborhoods of Kianpars and Lashkarabad has been investigated. The current research is a descriptive-analytical and correlational case study and a questionnaire was used. The results of this study show that the Pearson value in this relationship is 0.891 and the direction of the relationship is also positive; Also, the Sig value of the relationship is 0.00, which is smaller than 0.1; Therefore, the relationship between these two variables is statistically significant with a confidence level of 99%.
