The rapid growth of residential areas has caused the determination of suitable points for the purposes of urban development to be considered as one of the concerns of city managers. Based on this, in the current research, an attempt is made to analyze the natural space of Hersin city for the development of residential areas with the perspective of future development and peri-urban vision. The current research is based on library, field and software methods. In this research, 8 criteria of height, slope, slope direction, distance from the river, distance from the fault, lithology, communication road and land use have been used in order to investigate and zoning the favorable areas for urban development. Brain's working method is a combination of preparing information layers in the arc gis environment, standardization by fuzzy logic method, weighting in the form of ahp model and zoning using two models, OWA and WLC. The results showed that the current urban area of Hersin in terms of the environmental and geomorphological parameters available in the research is in relatively good conditions and based on the used OWA and WLC models, it is 8.8 and 9.6 square kilometers, respectively. However, there are inappropriate and very inappropriate areas in the development and location of the city of Hersin, which often include mountain units and steep and high areas, river boundaries and faults. The final result of the research shows the significant role of geomorphic units in the formation of urban systems, and based on this, it can be said that the current research with the existing comparative system approach is an effective model in the direction of managing peri-urban developments in the future.
