Kurdish regions of Iraq centered on two traditional parties, the Patriotic Union and the Democratic Party, due to the opportunities that arose after the collapse of the Baath regime, were able to share in the power and have countless powers in the economic, security and political fields in the new structure of Iraq. to obtain In the new structure of Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, centered on the Democratic Party, has acted unilaterally in the fields of security, economy, foreign policy, territorialism, etc. The central government has been challenged. After the attack of ISIS on Iraq, the common enemy, on the one hand, led to the establishment of military cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the central government of Iraq, and on the other hand, the security vacuum created in the disputed areas led to territorialization and sale of oil in those areas by the region, and the challenges with has intensified the central government. The conflicting and non-transparent policies of the Democratic Party with the central government in economic and security fields and excessive alignment with Turkey have caused a crisis and discontent among other parties in the Kurdistan region, and these conditions have caused the balance of power among political currents To get closer to Iran as a regional power, due to the common historical background. This research, using the descriptive-analytical method and library-internet and documentary sources, has analyzed the geopolitics of the Kurdistan region after the collapse of ISIS. The results of the research show that the ISIS war has caused the Democratic Party to intensify its confrontational policies with the central government and to be too close to Turkey, as well as in line with the balance of power in relation to the regional powers of the Union. Patriots tend to lean more towards Iran, which makes the possibility of the geopolitical division of Iraqi Kurdistan between the regional powers (Iran and Turkey) more likely than ever.
