Spatial metrics are a model for identifying and measuring urban spatial-temporal growth. The criteria for measuring the spatial pattern in this research are the extent of urban spots, the perimeter of spots or pieces, their proximity and proximity, the distance of the spots from the biggest spot or the main urban spot, the number of spots and pieces, the empty spaces inside the spots and the size of the piece. It is the main city. This research has been done to investigate and analyze the growth of Maragheh city with descriptive-analytical methods and using satellite images and envi, arcgis software and patch analyst plugin. The findings and results of the research show that the complexity index of parts has increased compared to previous periods, so that the amws index has increased from 1.56 to 1.84 and the awmpfd index has increased from 1.25 to 1.35. The centrality index was 2.1414.2 in 1365 and it decreased to 1.12 in 1395, and with the creation of new parts around the city, it has decreased the centrality. In terms of the compactness index, its amount has decreased and the number of built urban parts has increased and the complexity has increased. In terms of urban density, the density in 2015 was 333.9 people per hectare, which has decreased to 55.8 in the last period. Therefore, it can be concluded that the pattern of urban growth has been horizontally unbalanced with the destruction of fertile agricultural lands and natural resources and replacing them with scattered and incoherent urban neighborhoods.
