Sustainable development includes various components: economic, social, touristic, physical and environmental. One of the important pillars in this regard is the physical and functional changes of land and the creation of transportation platforms and its impact on rural settlements. Therefore, many parts of our country have undergone economic, social and environmental changes due to such changes. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of creating Tehran-North Freeway on the development of villages and settlements along the route and to determine and provide appropriate solutions in the fields of: environmental, population, animal ecology, social structure, industry, services, pastures and forests, land science, agriculture, lands, animal husbandry, tourism, economic structure, traffic and transportation and management, using AHP method. In the research hypothesis, it is proposed that the freeway has positive effects on the rural settlements along the route and also creates environmental effects and changes for the affected area. The current research method is descriptive, analytical and with practical purpose, and the method of field studies in the form of observation and... has been used. It is concluded that many of the villages on the route, which were in a dead end and only led to other villages, villages, districts and cities through local roads, after the construction of the freeway and its evolution, to the main artery. It is connected and this flow, while bringing significant changes in the affected areas, will also cause minimal environmental damage.
