Globalization is a developing and expanding process in the world, which has covered various economic, political, cultural and social dimensions of human societies using its powerful tools. Meanwhile, the development and expansion of communication and information, which is considered as both a tool and a dimension of this phenomenon, has expanded more than other dimensions of globalization. This dependence on information and communication technology, despite its significant benefits, has also created new forms of vulnerability for societies. One of the areas of vulnerability is the abuse of extremist and terrorist groups from the development of communication and information technologies. In fact, terrorist groups try to use the created conditions in order to expand their actions and plans. In this article, which has been carried out with a descriptive-analytical method, the impact of the globalization of communication and information on the actions, programs and organizational structure of terrorist groups has been evaluated. The results of this research show that terrorists use the globalization of communication and information and its opportunities for recruitment, training, propaganda and even terrorist acts. This has caused the organizational structure of some terrorist groups to become a network and these groups have more mobility and geographic diversity.
