This research has been done in order to know the long-term behavior of the series of average minimum temperature and average maximum temperature, as well as to identify the cold and warm periods of 35 satellite stations of Iran in the period of 1960-2010. At first, in order to know the changes of minimum and maximum temperatures, average maps of minimum and maximum temperatures and their coefficient of variation index were drawn using kriging method. Then, using the Man-Kendall statistical test, the significance of the trend on each of the stations was tested at the 95% confidence level. Finally, cold and hot periods were identified by using the 20% high and low probabilities of the average minimum and maximum temperatures during the 50-year study period. The results show that the distribution of temperature over Iran on a seasonal scale follows a similar pattern, which indicates a regular temperature regime in the region. The range of day-to-day changes in most of the studied synoptic stations, except for the winter season, which has a decreasing trend in most places, does not show a significant change. The increasing trend of the average minimum temperatures in different seasons, especially in the winter season, is higher than the average maximum temperatures, as a result, it can be said that the effect of the average minimum temperatures on a seasonal scale is greater on the average temperature of different regions of Iran in the investigated period. . The highest frequency of cold periods is in the first half of the study period and the highest frequency of hot periods is in the last half of the study period, especially in the 2000s.
