The undeniable role of human development in the field of information and communication technologies cannot be ignored in the present era. Today, software technologies have affected all aspects of human life in all geographical areas. The impact of this new trend on political geography is also quite evident and has provided space for extensive research in this field. Because the fundamental technologies of virtual space play an effective and important role in culture, social life, interaction patterns between governments and the nature of threats, and this indicates that the environment that poses threats against the national security of governments is no longer limited to the real world, but the virtual world as well. The real world is a threatening environment for governments. Among these, one of the most important emerging threats is cyber terrorism, and due to the density of anti-establishment terrorist groups in the peripheral environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the increasing role of non-governmental actors in creating threats by using the capacity of the virtual environment, for this purpose, this article focuses on it. is to explore and investigate the dimensions of cyber terrorism and its possible scenarios from the perspective of national security.
