During the past few decades, various geographical areas, especially rural areas, have been affected by various environmental, social, economic, political and spatial problems in an unfavorable situation. Identifying these factors and planning to solve them with a suitable and desirable approach has a significant impact on preventing the instability of villages and can guarantee the stability of villages. This research aims to analyze the instability of rural settlements from the point of view of rural residents Kohistani and Paykohi of Zagros, a case study of the villages of Marivan and Sarovabad cities was conducted, the materials of this research were mainly conducted by library and field methods, the tool used to collect information was a questionnaire, in this research, ARC GIS and SPSS software were used in the software Using SPSS software, one-sample t, Friedman, correlation coefficient, one-way analysis of variance and multivariate regression, the unstable condition of rural settlements in Marivan and Sarovabad villages has been evaluated. The findings of this research show that from the point of view of the councils and villagers, the studied area is very unstable from the economic and environmental-ecological dimensions, and these two dimensions have had the greatest impact on the amount of rural migrations and the instability of villages, and cultural, social and institutional factors Politics have not had much effect on the instability of villages. According to the authorities, the trend of instability of rural settlements can be reduced by positive changes in economic factors and control of environmental-ecological factors in the region.
