The integrated management of coastal areas with the support of valuable global experiences is one of the fundamental plans to face the numerous challenges of the sea coasts. This approach, which has been on the agenda of the long-term plans of the Islamic Republic of Iran since the beginning of the 70s, including the third and fourth plans, has a cross-sector, integrated and objective view for sustainable coastal development. It also includes three axes of environmental protection, development and management.But the main direction of this article is based on the fundamental point that it is not possible to apply integrated management on the coastal areas of Iran without considering the characteristics, political-military functions and security approaches on an international, regional and national scale. On this basis, since the capabilities of Iran's three sea coasts have turned them into strategic strips, in all stages of ICZM, it will be inevitable to consider military approaches from a strategic perspective for its implementation.
