Usually, in every city, there is a place that we refer to as dangerous areas, and in these areas, crimes happen easily, and when we have to pass through these streets or areas, we just want to pass quickly, and the reasons for the appearance of such places are always in Cities have questions for everyone. In fact, if people choose a place to live, the first issue that occupies their mind is security, because security is considered an important indicator to increase the quality of social life and one of the factors that creates security in the space. Environmental factors shape that space. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to investigate the environmental factors affecting the occurrence of the crime of theft. The area under study is the city of Qom, and regions 1 and 7 of this city have been investigated on a case-by-case basis. Descriptive-analytical research method is based on survey and questionnaire technique is used. The results of the research indicate that from the perspective of the residents of Qom region, the neighborhood watchman index with an average of 4.21 can have the greatest effect in reducing the crime of theft, and the population density will have the least effect. With an average of 4.46, windows are considered to be the main factor in crime reduction and the issue of providing facilities and facilities for better performance of the neighborhood by the municipality has the least impact. Also, there is a direct relationship between the attention of municipalities with a correlation coefficient of 0.48, such as the physical protection of the neighborhood with a coefficient of 0.29 and the reduction of theft crime in regions 1 and 7, so that the more physical protection and the provision of urban facilities, facilities and infrastructures, the greater the amount of theft crime in this area. areas will decrease.
