The creation and expansion of highways has positive effects in the city such as reducing travel time, increasing accessibility, etc., but it has caused many environmental, social, economic and physical problems for citizens and especially the residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. With the passage of time, various theories emerged to criticize highways, which ultimately led to the creation of the anti-highway movement and the destruction of highways in different cities of the world. In this article, an attempt has been made to investigate the cause of the destruction of highways and the effects of their creation and destruction. The purpose of this research is to measure the improvement of physical, social, economic and environmental dimensions before and after the destruction of highway projects. Therefore, in this article, the method of documentary studies has been used to examine the experiences and the t-distribution test has been used to measure the importance of each of the criteria.
